The Banks Journal DTLA storefront is our first brick and mortar, blending clean and minimal aesthetics with natural materials near LA’s Arts District. Working with the design firm West of West, our new space seeks to blend our Australian and Japanese heritage with our sustainable ethos and coastal influence and appeal. The store’s main attraction is an eye-catching ceiling installation constructed of 1000 linear feet of wood, inspired by traditional Japanese woodworking techniques.
The 1000 square foot retail space is housed in the historic 1900’s building that previously housed the LA Terminal Market along the Southern Pacific Railroad. The area has now been repurposed into a modern shopping and dining experience known as The ROW DTLA. Alongside our Banks Journal apparel, the new flagship offers a curated selection of vintage rugs, vinyl, design books and products from like-minded brands.
