ZURFLANDR 2.0
A bunch of rad like-minded brands, booze, music... and a catwalk? Yeah, that’s basically Zurflandr 2.0 in a nutshell. This event is thrown annually by our good pals over at Lone Wolfs Objets d’Surf in Venice, CA. Truthfully, I was thrilled to grab a few handfuls of outfits and let these guys do their thing.
It gets better. We were given the option to choose the jams for the runway. Funny story actually... I was driving on the 5 South, heading to work, reading the email regarding the event. Let’s Dance by David Bowie was blasting out of my SUV’s window (my AC went out months ago). I’ll let you guys guess the rest.
The night was epic. I was able to hand my beer off to someone so I could snag some photos backstage (...that beer never found its way back to me by the way.) The pieces fit these models perfectly.
When grabbing the outfits in the weeks prior, I remember thinking to myself, “fuck, these might look horrid,” in terms of how they'd fit. That night, I learned the importance of a stylist.
Our digital designer, Ashton Dewey, and our California sales manager and fashion guru, Tom Goad, were there to hold it down with me. We were throwing back House beers and Stolen whiskey for the ambiance.
Tom was even sweet enough to put together an afterparty at The Little Friend right around the corner. We all danced the night away. All in all, it was a good time. We highly recommend you mark your calendars for the next one to come. See you there!
We are very grateful to Lone Wolfs Objets d'Surf for hosting another amazing night, our very own DTLA shop manager Jeremy Knies for capturing the vibe and his first hand recollection of the evening & Paddy Wilkins for his additional shots.
